I guess we should have a tradition of welcoming newly activated users. If you're a new user and see this thread, feel free to introduce yourself. If you want to lurk, that's fine also.

Hello Storm Track Community
I have been fascinated by weather since I was 7 years old, and now that i am 16, I have been studying a lot on Severe weather. I wan't to become a meteorologist when i grow up. I live in San Diego CA and we don't get severe weather, so after i graduate High School I wan't to apply to the University of Oklahoma Meteorology School. For now i use the software's Grlevel 3 and Grearth. I am subscribed to AllisonHouse hunting package and use this programs on my 2 desktops when severe weather is happening. and i thought why not join the storm track community.

I visited California for the first time this year including San Diego. While I was there, the first of Sept., storms fired up along the mountain range to the East nearly everyday. Some of them were severe warned and there were plenty of flash flood warnings. I realize though that may not happen often. Looked like a good opportunity for lightning photography. We also went up on top of a little mountain with a huge white cross on it, I don't remember the name, but you may be familiar with it....and we watched the fog roll in off the ocean. At one point you could look out over the ocean and it was just a sea of fog below you... then it came in and covered the city. But yeah, no storms like east of the Rockies. Welcome to Stormtrack.

Hello, I am a European from Belgium. Sorry for my imperfect English. I am part of a Belgian group specialized in the study and understanding of thunderstorms.
I registered on this forum to learn more about the American storms and at the same time, follow with interest the interesting debate.

Hello, I'm Jason Boggs, and I live in the eastern TX Panhandle. I've been on ST off and on for quite a few years now. I was a moderator on here back a few years ago. I've been actively chasing since 1998 and I currently chase for KAMR-TV in Amarillo. I also chase with Warren Faidley and his team in the spring months. My most memorable event was the Campo Colorado tornado in 2010 and the near miss from getting hit by a tornado at night near Childress, TX in 2006.
