• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Looking at putting one of these in our chase vehicle but would like to know how you are mounting them.Pictures would be nice if possible.Do they make a mount for the windshield, dash, etc. or just make something yourself ?? Thanks...

Here is what I use:

It is very well made and works well unless you have a very slanted windshield, like in a sports car because the camera will be against the glass. But it works well in trucks and SUV's. I use it in my Taurus, but made a 'C' bracket to mount the camera below the mount because it's pitch is much more shallow than the one in my truck was. You could get one with a longer arm, but they tend to bounce a bit more.

Fred, here is a mount I custom-made for my Microsoft Lifecam Cinema, which can be used in several configurations:

I had been using the first setup for a few years. I even modded it to hold 2 cameras, streaming and HD camera. I got this old police camera mount from a retired Sheriff a few years ago and made it work for my setup. I am still using it but my main stream camera and HD recording has move to the second setup below.

webcam mount.jpgWell here is what I ended up with.Did some shopping and found a the webcam at Best Buy for 50.00 and ventured to the Bass Pro Out-let store to find this Ram Mount for the windshield for just ten bucks.Mounted a plate on it and drilled out the hole for the webcam...Not bad for a total price of 65.00

Man, you guys are fancy! But if you're operating on a tight budget, my lady friend, Lisa, came up with a great, cost-effective idea. I bought some industrial Velcro, put the fuzzy part on my dash and the hooked part on the bottom of my Logitech webcam, and I'm good to go. Cost me around $3.00, works great, detaches in a heartbeat, and takes up absolutely no extra space either on the dash or in my computer case.
