Way To Save Gas Money

I'm not sure how well this works, as I just saw it on tech crunch. I thought maybe some spotters would like something like this

Looks similar to buying futures like some of the airlines and larger companies do. I could see some benefit buying before know increases like memorial weekend and typical summer fuel price jumps. I did notice the artical said "based on where you live" I wonder if that is state level or regional?

It's been reported that most of these fixed price things are either scams or not vary widely used and only work in a few stations. There was a local news report on these (consumer awareness type segment), and most everyone actually lost money rather than saving money.
