Not entirely sure if this guy is actually this stupid, but apparently Steve Green is stating that he plans to walk into a tornado wearing a bullet proof suit. Here is the link. <http://www.meetstevegreen.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=60&Itemid=80>

Just curious as to some of your thoughts about this ridiculous idea.

Reed Timmer should mount one of those giant people launching circus canons on the dominator and launch this guy into a tornado...He could be the first human tornado probe :-)

I suppose it is only natural that after the intercepts in vehicles someone was bound to think "I can top that". I wonder who he is going to try to recruit to get him into position, I cannot imagine many of us here would even consider it knowing the very likely outcome of a stunt like this. I hope that most wont lump people who would attempt something this moronic in with those of us that take safety very seriously while chasing. Imagine if somehow, he does this and lives; There will be idiots lined up a mile long thinking they can do the same.

thats kind have been my thought for a while now, we already have the TIV and dominator. what are we going to have in 10 years?

I think Ron White covered this in his comedy act...

Ron White said:
Now, let me explain somethin' to ya: it isn't that the wind is blowin', it's what the wind is blowin'. If you get hit by a Volvo, it doesn't matter how many sit-ups you did that morning. If you have a "Yield" sign in your spleen, joggin' don't really come into play.

$10 says the final words are "hey.... watch this"

I think the actual final words are "here...hold my beer a second"

Is this a new take? seems I heard/read something like this a couple years ago....
maybe I'm thinking about the guy with the NASCAR or rally truck.

I think that's what the bullet proof suit is for. The problem would be getting lifted by the tornado and thrown hundreds of yards. I'm not sure how well the suit would help him, then. But then again, I don't know the details of this suit. Maybe it is made for just that sort of thing.

By the way, for those who don't know, this was the first guy to drive into a tornado. I say it's his life, if that's what he wants to do, more power to him. I hope he pulls it off!

He's been planning to walk into a tornado for a long time now. I remember a similar post about this from last year, wish I had the will power to find it.

Yeah he's been pimping that idea out for a while now... I may leak my plans to ride a Segway into a Tornado while wearing little league catcher equipment later this season.

I like his website. In the "picture" the tornado looks like the one from Wizard-of-Oz movie, you know, made from a muslin tube. Also.... we all know that there is a big difference between walking into a late summer, weak eastern Colorado landspout and a late spring drill bit tornado in mid Kansas.

...Imagine if somehow, he does this and lives; There will be idiots lined up a mile long thinking they can do the same.

Actually, in our weird society, the exact opposite would likely occur; If he lives, the attitude will be "boring...not worth being the 2d person to do that" but if he dies, it will increase the sense of drama and danger and bring more 'fame' to the idiot who can do it and live (hence a longer line...)

I would just like to say that if by some odd miracle he succeeds and lives, I will be one of the people saying that that was AAAAAAWWWWWWEEEEEESSSSSSOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! Im not going to do it though.
