• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I have a verizon 4g lte mifi and i keep losing signals in my area. i go into a 4g area and it comes back on with no problem. funny thing is ive contacted verizon and was told a few days ago that it was a relay switch on "THEIR SIDE" i talked to them today and "its your device failing" so im getting a new mifi (again) plus i was told that "your house is is in the ""extended 4g area"" and seems like your device is not wanting to switch channels"

anyone else having issues?

Try Googling for your device, you might find a secret command or menu that allows you to manually switch 3G to 4G as needed. On my aircard, this switch is in a secret menu that you access in the connection manager software with CTRL-D and a password. For chasing, you could get away with leaving it on 3G all the time. It's annoying to do the handoff manually, but not something that is necessary to keep internet access if you just leave it on 3G. With mine, the handoff only happens as I've leaving and entering the STL metro. I only switch to 4G when I am in the metro area. After I'm out in the country, I leave it on 3G and have no issues.

One other question: are you running any equipment emitting significant RF proximal to the mifi device (e.g., ham radio, CB, etc.)? I know of at least one other chaser who has had significant problems when operating radio transmitting equipment with his mifi also active, and in speaking with Verizon and doing his own research, he's come to the conclusion that some of the mifi devices have very poor RF shielding, which causes a loss of performance when being used in conjunction with nearby RF sources. I haven't had any of the issues that you're describing with my 4G USB device.

I got the Mifi last week and have had no issues. Chased yesterday in panhandle and w okla and had to manually switch the device to 3g or 4g unless there was a lock already. You man need to try that, verizon had told me that they still havent figured that problem out. Manually switching the device was a way around the problem.
