Video Question...JVC

Okay..I have a JVC GR-D347U mini DV video cam. I am having some issues.....I decided to buy a 4 pin firewire to USB cable to use my video cam as a webcam since I don't have a direct firewire port for my laptop or desktop. For some reason, it won't work. I can't find any drivers for the camera online or on the JVC support websites. Can anyone help me with this issue or give a recommendation. Thanks!

How about just getting a firewire PCI card for your desktop. They are really cheap:

I have one laptop with a firewire port....but it looks quite a bit different on the end than that. It's a 4 pin connector on both ends.
