Video project 2014

Hello everyone,

My name is Nils, I'm a young french artist working in the field of contemporary art.
I've been orientated to this forum following my research on tornadoes. I've always been fascinated by these phenomenon and I aim to make a short video
(about 30 min long) of storms, supercells and tornadoes. I'm currently trying to give myself the possibility to realize this project.

I've been collecting infos for a while and went also through numerous topics in this forum but I'm still looking for informations on the subject
and have few questions that remain in mind.

My first idea was to dedicate a whole month to that and make a trip between April and June 2014, most likely mid-May / beginning of June, with Oklahoma City
as a starting point. I'm very new in this field and I wondered if that sounds right in term of schedule and realistic to try on my own?

Someone I have been in touch with told me that for a first time, subscribing to a tour would be the best and most realistic option for me to realize my project?

As a second option, I wondered if you think that some people in this area may be ok to get someone like me tagging along (or sharing costs) for such a project?

Every advices and informations would be a big help for this project! I would be very grateful to know what you think.

Nils, as far as time scheduling, generally the month of May is going to be your best bet for supercells and tornadoes in the southern plains. June can also be a great time as well. If you've never chased before, I'd highly recommend you go with someone experienced. Chase tours are good, and my friend Warren Faidley also takes people with a one on one approach so you won't be fighting for space and dealing with people in a crowded vehicle. Whatever you do, just go with someone experienced so you can get the best possible experience out of your trip.

By the way, Warren is on this forum, so shoot him a message and ask him a few questions. He would be happy to answer them for you.

Nils I have no problem having you tag along with me if I have the room. I just ask to help pay for fuel and maybe hotel. I don't chase everything but if we plan itright i might just take a full week in late May to chase everything. It's still a long way out., but it coyldnt hurt to plan now.

thanks you very much for your offer! It's quite far away from now yes, but I would be glad to plan something together if our both schedules fit well!
