Hi all,

I hope it's OK to post this here. I'm very new to the community, and was just gearing up for a trip I booked last year after 15 years of thinking about doing it.

Unfortunately... a sudden urgent work trip beckons, and I'm no longer able to go, nor can I move to another tour date since they're all sold out. Rather than lose the entire cost of the trip, Ron has kindly offered me the chance to see if anyone else will buy my seat from him, in which case he'll move my booking to next year.

Ron's got a great reputation and all of the spaces on all of his 13 tours this season are fully sold out, so this is a chance to go on a reputable tour this year rather than wait until next. The tour in question is the Great Plains Cyclone Tour here, and it starts on May 6th arriving in Oklahoma City, for 7 days.

Hopefully someone gets the chance to do their chase tour this year, and I get a chance to do mine next year!

All the best,

Damian

I hope for your sake that SLT is also trying to sell the seat themselves and not only leaving it up to you. If they’re sold out, that means the market demand is there, and I would think they’d have no problem selling the last-minute opening. In fact I would assume they have a waiting list.

I am not sure what their cancellation policy is but I assume two weeks in advance means no money back at all, right? I know they try to sell these kind of seats with a discount when there is about one month left but selling a tour seat this late is quite difficult.

What is your selling price for it? I am not interested myself (will chase with them in late May, in fact) but maybe I could help you out...

Ron said he would put it back on the website; you're right in that they do have a waiting list feature, so I would have thought someone would be on it and I'll ask him, but I can imagine many may now be otherwise booked or not get PTO at this notice.

I felt it's more acceptable to promote it myself as a member trying not to lose the ticket, than to have the operators 'advertising' places, as there might be rules against that on some forums.

At the moment I'll see if I can fill it, but if I can't I might take offers. Since we're on the topic, anyone does want to make an offer, please DM me.

Silver Lining could fill that seat in a heartbeat just from their waiting list.
I don't think it is all that easy. Even if they have a waiting list there has to be someone who can get off work etc in 2 weeks notice and be able to go on those particular days. When they had a few cancellations earlier they did fill them up rather quickly but that was a few weeks back.

Let me know if you need some help but I would assume the price goes down every day since fewer and fewer people can go. Just my 2 cents.
