Did anyone have or currently have a copy of the book "Under the Whirlwind" by Arjen and Jerrine Verkaik? I recently found my old copy I got as a kid. Sadly it was to damaged to keep. I was considering getting another copy , but I wanted to ask in here what was everyone thoughts on the book? Good? Bad? I remember only very little from it. Mainly a image that I later found out to be one of David Hoadley's many awesome sketches.

I have a copy. I liked it, but I read it way before I was a chaser. I remember it most distinctly for talking about "worst first" and "worst last" storm types, which I always thought was interesting because I'm from Arizona and we would mostly get the monsoon storms which are usually of the "worst first" variety. It's the only book I've seen describe it that way.

And yeah, the tornado presentation gallery was something I remembered too. I didn't know that was Dave Hoadley's picture until last year.

...now I need to go reread it. :)

I may actually have an extra copy of this. I remember buying it, and then receiving it later as a gift from my wife, who didn’t realize I already had it. This I was a long time ago, and I could be remembering wrongly, but when I get home from my chase trip in a couple weeks I will look for it and if I do have a second copy I am happy to send it to you if you’d like it. If I forget by the time I get home and you don’t hear from me by mid-June, feel free to direct message me or tag me in a reply to this thread.
