• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Twistex Memorial Vandalized

I will never, EVER understand why people do something like this. Disgusting!

Hopefully the damage can be somewhat repaired. That's pretty low. However, I sense that the perp will not be caught. I doubt there was much evidence left behind to use.

Some people are just assholes with no respect for their fellow man.

To be honest, I didn't even know about this beautiful monument until this news feed. The flag is indeed ripped off the flagpole and the only bullet scratch I saw was on the "s" in Samaras' name (1st thumbnail). Looks like some WD-40 did help to cover it up (also in the news feed). I took a moment to understand this event and how this strange tornado acted to take the lives of these seasoned storm chasers that day. The 26 minute video "What we relearned from the El Reno tornado" is extremely informative if you haven't already viewed it. I am humbled, and this brought back to mind the seriousness of chasing severe weather. If you ever get the chance, visit this awesome memorial.
It was a little difficult to find, as the locals don't seem to know where it is and the internet doesn't give an exact location (as far as I could find). It is on Reuters Road just east of S Evans Road, about 1.5 miles south of I-40.

That sucks, people suck but I'm not too surprised. Drive around any back road in the rural parts of the country and every sign, post, and object of opportunity has been shot to hell by drunk teens and/or rednecks alike. Doubt it will be the last time it takes some bullets or is the target of vandalism.

I didn't even know there was a memorial...

Still, that someone would feel it ever okay to do something like this is absolutely disgusting. Even if they aren't found, I hope that karma catches up to them...
