• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I know that a lot of chasers made use of their fairly inexpensive but useful service when chasing last year. According to their website, they have ceased operations due to equipment problems.

Here's the link for anybody interested:

http://truckstop.net/

Interestingly, they also indicate:

At some locations the stops themselves have hooked in an internet circuit that is keeping the service active at their location. We are offering the service at no charge currently at those locations

Their list of active sites is actually fairly long. Is there going to be some free wifi at gas stations this spring?

I tried several of these stops in Arkansas and in the Plains while on the way to Denver for the chaser convention. I haven't found any yet that didn't work. And of course, the best part is that the WiFi access is free (at least for the time being) at these truck stops. :D

Interesting, it's saying something different now:

Scott Moscrip, CEO of Truckstop.net announced today that most current operations have been suspended pending litigation in the U.S. District Court in Idaho.

Reading the provided pdf file, seems that Sprint installed much of their equipement, it wasn't working properly, and they won't fix it, thus they are suing Sprint.

They have a page up for the site that are still live and free.

That is unfortunate as Truckstop net was the most reliable WiFi while chasing across the Plains and the Mid-Atlantic. hopefully, the situation will improve by May.

The silver lining is that according to the web site, those locations that don't require the sprint equipment and have their own internet access are still up and running and free for now. This icludes most of the Love in Ok/TX
