• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Tropical Storm Cristobal

TD 3

Looks like the dog will hunt. Here in Jax, we got the rain in good feeder bands, but it is pretty much moving out.

I personally thought this would be a TD before now.

Looks like the advisories have started and we have a tropical depression.

T.S. Watch for Hatteras and Oregon Inlet have been issued, as well as T.S. Warning for SC to Hatteras,NC.

NHC outlook predicts it reaches tropical storm strength by 8 PM Saturday.

I personally am very curious as to what this setup is doing. I'm currently on vacation in the Outer Banks, just a few miles from Oregon Inlet.

T.S. Warning extends through halfway of SC to all along the Outer Banks as of 8 AM EDT.

Looks like the depression is getting some nice spin on it per vis satellite. It seems to me that the rotation is tightening up. I'm thinking we may have a T.S. sometime later on today.

Good day all,

This storm name is my name "Christopher" in Spanish - LOL!

Anyway, not sure if Hattaras will get anything good as the right-side of the core may stay east of the area, given a jog left in the track doesn't happen.

The left side of the storm is generally weaker (forward motion adds to the right quadrant, takes away from the left in the N hemisphere).

I am not chasing this one. I am focusing more on some of the models for disturbance 94L which bring a major hurricane in the NW GOM by the end of next week (at least that's what models are showing).

Yes, we did set up the wind tower. Ended up going with 7.3 meters due to guy wire issues. We just took out the middle piece and shaved off 10 feet. That really helped the stability. None the less, we recorded several hours of wind data- nothing impressive at all but it did work very well. Always looking to test equipment when we can. Here is a link to the page where we displayed the data. Note the archive where you can view the wind data minute by minute.
