On pages such as NCEP 4.0 km special NMM WRF run for SPC (WPS and IJK model), it has hours, 21h, 22h, etc. When clicking on 25h it changes to 6/8. I thought this was Zulu time. Can someone please explain this to me. TIA.

"21h" means 21-hours from the time of the model run. For example, if it's the 12z model run, that frame would be the forecast for 21 hours after 12z. The date probably changed at 25h because it's valid for 00z on 6/8.

Chart times Z time?

The current forecast cycle is 00Z on 20090607 ; graphics finished at Sun Jun 7 04:05:18 GMT 2009. So then 00hr frame would be 7:00 p.m. since 00Z is 7:00 p.m. right:confused:? I don't know why I can't get this.

00z UTC is the 'date rollover time' in Greenwich Mean Time (also called UTC and Zulu time). In other words, 8PM EDT (7PM CDT, 6PM MDT, etc) is 12 midnight UTC - the time when the date rolls over in the Greenwich time zone. Greewich time rolls over several hours earlier than our time here in the USA (depending on your time zone and whether Daylight Saving Time is observed). So, at 8PM EDT here in the US it's already the next day in the Greenwich time zone.

This was the most confusing thing to figure out about models for me when I started. Most models are run at 12z and 00z - on the image, there will be a stamp for the time the model was run, then the time the model is forecasting for, both in UTC. For today, when the 00z runs come out tonight, the forecast for 8PM Monday evening will show the 00z run valid for 00z Tuesday.
