Actually, you've got to wonder what effects a 300M high wall running along the OK / KS border might produce? As with orographic lift, the Tornado Wall might actually deflect a strong LLJ up and through whatever cap might be in place - it might actually enhance supercell formation to a degree! Hmmmm.....

Reading this thread has brought mind another name that I hadn't thought about in some time: Does anybody know what ever happened to the Steve Green, the stuntman who wanted to walk into a tornado? Remember hearing about him a few years back, but hadn't heard anything about him for a few years. Tried a quick search, but didn't find anything; just curious.

Isn't that the same guy that designed a "tornado attack vehicle" that he wanted to drive into a tornado with? I remember seeing it online several years ago but I dunno what ever came of it. I don't know if that was before or after Reed and Sean Casey designed their intercept vehicles.

Yeah, that's the guy. We were talking about whatever happened to him last year at dinner during a chase, but nobody knew what happened to him. Seems like he just disappeared. Totally forgot about him until I read this thread (just triggered it in my mind).

Am I the only one that thinks the vehicle and all is cool? I was thinking to myself the other day since everyone is talking about "what is next?" that the next thing someone will do is build a suit and try to position themselves to enter a tornado by motorcycle or something. And now I see someone has actually made a suit. Surely I haven't seen this before. Maybe it's something that I've seen and just couldn't recall it. Yeah definitely nutty. I'd say the suit needs to be a little more substantial, lol. There are these types in every activity though.

Back in the 1988 Weatherwise Magazine documented a tornado crossing the Continental Divide above 11,000 feet.

My Idea ?? SDS and Cabin fever have influenced my thought processes, but...

What about seeding the hell out of a wall cloud/meso environment ??
Maybe a shoulder launched rocket loaded with silver iodide or dry ice.

Forget the logistics, would it work ?

Cool off the boundary layer with precip, kill the thermodynamics before things get organized.

Even if it did work, you'd have to do it a zillion times before you knew if it works or not.

The "Great Wall" idea sounds to me like a cool idea for thesis research, more like a
feasibility study than a serious plan -- sometimes reporters play up these things to
stir up interest... and it works... doesn't it ??

I do remember a while back that one idea to deter tornadoes was to deposit a lot of dry ice to cool and dry the storm. Of course the logistics of getting that much dry ice at any given second is absurd. Still cool to think about.
