There will be one additional speaker in the afternoon to be announced at a later date.

After the morning session, emphasis will be on addressing the current concern about unsafe and irresponsible storm chasing and the discussion of possible solutions, and on the celebration of David Hoadley’s career and contribution to storm chasing.

As always, the event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited to 500 persons for the conference.

There will be a fee for those attending the Hoadley celebration dinner.

Since the conference is free and open to the public, TESSA relies on contributions from sponsors and vendors. If you are interested in either sponsoring or being a vendor, please contact Ariana Cibley, the conference coordinator, at [email protected]

More details will be posted at http://www.tessa.org as the year progresses.

I can definitely see some fireworks in TESSA's future should the right combination of folks show up. I heard about a few comments being made in passing about this topic a few years ago at a TESSA event, I can only imagine the sparks when this becomes the floor topic.

You put 450 spotters in a room and start them on irresponsible chasers, and some of us might not make it out alive. Last year I had a few of the old timer guys look at me like they wanted to kill me. Should be fun

We'll wait until autumn before stickying this news item.... this is still quite a long ways down the road. Sounds interesting though... I'll be there.

I should mention that the Hoadley tribute has some really big significance in the storm chaser world. It will be his 50th anniversary of storm chasing, and most likley is also the 50th anniversary of "modern day chasing" (Ben Franklin notwithstanding). This Hoadley tribute is being coordinated by myself, Chuck Doswell, and Martin Lisius.

Tim - that's fine - I don't want to cause you any more work.

We can just let this thread slide, and I'll make a note to dredge it back up in fall (maybe October?).

Unless folks want to keep discussing it - which is fine, too. Greg - nice to see you have a hand in the David Hoadley gig - which was totally news to me! Can't wait to attend this TESSA - which should be very significant in terms of chasing history.
