Another thread has been posted in the "Equipment" section, but I will copy the text of that thread here for reasons that will be obvious:

Tapatalk is an app for easy access to message boards while on your Android or iPhone. This could be useful for those wishing to access Stormtrack information from their cellphones. Just search "tapatalk" in the app store; the freeware is a read-only version, while the paid version ($3) will allow you to post on any other participating forum, including here should the Stormtrack admins so choose.

The website for this product is www.tapatalk.com. Signing up a forum to be viewable on the product is free of charge, should the administrators here wish to do so.

I recently added this to my Android phone, and it is great except for one thing: None of the 3 forums I am a part of are set up with Tapatalk. It would be great if Stormtrack could add Tapatalk functionality. I would beat the heck out of having to pinch/squeeze all of the browser windows I open.

Is it not possible to just view ST via normal web browsing on the various smart phones?

Jason, I don't even have a "smart phone" and I access Stormtrack without problem through the web browser. I have an EnV Touch.

Yes, but viewing it in a web browser on my phone and and with Tapatalk is like night and day. With Tapatalk I don't have to use my giant meat hooks to select ultra-tiny links to read text that is too small for my 40+ year old eyes.

From what I understand it doesn't require any coding changes, it just has to be enabled in the forum control panel. Maybe it's not an option in vBulletin 3.xx, I don't know.

What we can do is throw this in with the list of suggestions for making Stormtrack better and more user friendly for the coming years. Tim will probably have to check and see whether or not the current version of vBulletin will allow compatibility with this software.

I just enabled the Tapatalk system on Stormtrack. I did not complete their "Add Your Forum to Tapatalk Network" step, however, as I didn't really want us listed on general web directories like that. However if it is necessary for us to be listed in their mobile app for it to work, then I will do so.

If anyone is using Tapatalk and can work with me on this to get us active, please check and see whether Stormtrack is working for you on that device. If not, I'll complete the registration.

Tim

Never mind -- I went ahead and added it. It looked like it was a necessary step. I think we're live now.

Thank you very much Tim for considering and implementing this! This is great to have this ability!
