It's been a pretty interesting summer, in regards to thunderstorms in the northeast. The attached pic was taken 8/15/08. This was part of a series of thunderstorms that moved through northern New Jersey-including one tornado-warned thunderstorm that moved through Bergen County into the Bronx (New York City). That storm had weak rotation in it-there were no reports of funnel clouds or tornado touchdowns that I know of.
I've gotten to see some beautiful storms this summer, as well as take photos with my Sony Mavica. I do have a Canon EOS 630, but I'm a bit short on funds right now, in terms of spending money on film. I wish I could afford a digital EOS.
