The front page gives the following statistic- Most users ever online was 594, 04-22-2007 at 10:38 PM.

Question; was there a significant event or events leading up to this record number of users on stormtrack that day?

Well, I know the big Tulia, TX event was on the 21st, so I think there were probably a lot of users looking at photos and reading accounts.

He went into great detail on his site - for those who want to read the best blow-by-blow account that is sure to get you white-knuckled while reading it. It is one of my favorite bits that I've read concerning storm chasing!

I'm not sure; we don't have very good metrics for that kind of thing, unfortunately. We get farked a couple of times a year though so that will make up a large share of it.

I did recently check on the highest views for a single thread, and it was, by almost no surprise...the Hurricane Ike thread.

I saw a huge spike in my website's traffic as well.

I could not find Hurricane Katrina's thread that was here on ST, but I suspect that might have been higher.
