Stormtrack Chat and nowcasting

This is indeed very strange Tarmo. Since I'm primarily a Linux user myself at home I've just tried it as well here and..... I'm afraid to say that it works for me here (with FF 3.6.3).

I did try it with the Konqueror Browser too (KDE based) and it seemed to work at first, but then crashed. Not a prob since i prefer FF anyways.

It's almost like something is getting stripped at your end.

In other matters I think this could be a great idea, but I agree with others that some moderation might be necessary.

I'm running FF 3.6.3 on a Windows Vista 32 bit home premium without a problem, and have never had one in 9 months.

As far as using Ajax chat as a 'real time' NOW thread, I like the idea, as when I'm out in the field on a storm, I like to hear/know what others are doing, without having to refresh the page every few minutes. So conceptually, a restricted use chat room for this purpose works. I'm a bit old-school I guess, in that I'm using a laptop with Windows 7 on the road, versus ipod/droid etc. I dunno, I just feel there's something lost when you use such devices for chasing, but I can't quite say what that is.
