Kind of a short notice, but at 9ET/8CT a movie will be on Lifetime called Storm Cell, here is the description:

Eighteen years ago, April and Sean Saunders watched helplessly as their parents were consumed in the wrath of a massive twister. Now April (Mimi Rogers) is a storm chaser seeking to understand every aspect of the forces that ripped her life apart, while Sean moved to Seattle where there is minimal chance of a twister touching down. As April is researching current shifts in weather patterns, she discovers that the path of Tornado Alley may be moving north...with Seattle as the new tornado hotspot. Immediately, she drags her boyfriend and rebellious teenage daughter to Seattle to warn Sean, a city Sheriff. Sean finds April's theory ridiculous; and more importantly, he despises what his sister does for a living?basically chasing the ghosts of their parents. It isn't long before odd weather phenomena begins to wreak havoc on the unassuming city, and April now realizes her prediction is horribly accurate. With a massive storm system brewing, and a category defying twister looming, April must fight against an entire city unwilling to believe, as well as two decades of her own nightmares and demons, in a desperate attempt not to let this deadliest of storms finally get the best of her and her brother.

Why are H's pics from 5-24-04 hanging on the wall in the first few minutes?...I've seen enough. Thank goodness for Blockbuster and opting to watch the classic "Falling Down" over and over and over...

I've done turn it off, I didn't last 10 minutes. I am curious to know if they got permission to use those pics that were hanging on the wall.

My mom actually called and told me this show was on. I turned it on just in time to see an anti-cyclonic tornado roll right down a busy street in a large city. That was enough for me.

At least they could have moved him to Mississippi, Alabama, or Tennessee on a misconception, and at least raised public awareness that strong tornadoes are actually more prevalent there.

Yeah, this movie was pretty horrible (I watched two minute increments while Dirty Jobs was at commercial). Though for the one scene I saw that had a tornado in it, it was pretty good graphics (sure beats the MS Paint tornadoes on other shows). I was disappointed to see Michael Ironside...what a fall since Top Gun. Though, go figure for Lifetime, there was a scene of a young man being aggressive with Mimi Rogers' character's daughter
(hormones leads to near tornado death!). I got mad at one point when they found some little kid standing in the road and the mom and the car were on the side (she was dead...sad) but the sheriff didn't get the kid out of the road....they just stood there! Oh, hate to ruin the ending, but the TV met is the dad. I give it one funnel cloud (for reference, I gave Twister 3 tornadoes and a funnel cloud) :D

Yet another example.

Ah, Lifetime network....the women as victims network. For a network that's suppose to be for women, seems like they don't portray them very well.

I'll skip it and all the other Twister rip-offs. Well, I'll skip Twister too.

Think I'll go watch my Hurricane Documentaries or Tornado Video Classics one more time....lol.

Ok, I'm going to have to keep an eye out for a rerun...this sounds like something to watch for kicks and giggles when you're having a bad day.
Remember a few years back when the PAX channel had all those very disfunctional families brought together by the power of Mother Nature movies? Sounds like this was as bad as all of those. (And I almost hate to admit I taped all of those )

No, atomic twister and Night of the Twisters was much, much better.

You should not, under any circumstances, attempt to play the "Twister Drinking game" to this movie. You will not make it out alive.

Hmm, I missed it. That use sure doesn't ring any bells. Last time I had that happen it turned out that I DID license it for the use, after I whined about it on my website. I'm not eager to do that again, lol. Many times the licenses are general in wording and sometimes don't state specific shows. That said, I really don't think I ever ok'd it. Only thing that I can think of that sounds like that was some show on the WB that wanted pictures to have in the background like that. Maybe they used their set, lol. Having no clue how or what was shown exactly, guess I can't say much for sure.

I'm still wondering why you guys even bother. We all know right now that you're all going to hate every possible show/movie about tornadoes. No point in doing this thread ever again...let's just say it right now: You all hate them all.

I don't know about that. Every time one comes on, it's like the old game of seeing who can hang on to the electric fence the longest. But in this case, it is seeing how long you can stomach the movie...or in Whitehill's case, how many beers you can stomach before the movie has been on for an hour.

I guess for me the reason is that while growing up there were never any movies about tornadoes on TV. At least that I can remember. Now whenever one is listed on the guide I automatically check it out.

Well, either that or I just need to get a life lmao.
