• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Storm Chasing Handbook, Second Edition to be released!

Would be nice to get my copy of the book for my photo contribution, it sounds like a good book... really looking forward to it! :)

Sorry, I've been out of pocket for a few weeks.

We are fully stocked at weathergraphics.com. Amazon has been dry because we stopped supplying them last summer due to a shortage. That's why those shady sellers are exploiting the shortage with $130 price tags. Amazon is starting to re-order infinitesimally small quantities (like 1 at a time) right now, but at that rate they're probably going to stay backordered through much of March. I don't know where Barnes & Noble gets their copies so I can't comment on them.

My Dad and I are going on our second chasecation this year, and this book will be the perfect birthday present for him. Just ordered it through weather graphics, can't wait to take a peek!

Out of Stock?

Just ordered the book online from weathergraphics - and the order went through, BUT they say they are out of stock & hoping for a new shipment of copies after the 20th?!

Pook.

I guess the wait will just make the book that much better after so much antici- - - - - - - pa-tion.

I love the book and there are a few sections that I want to reread.

My only beef is that some of the pics are way over contrasted so that some of the cloud features are not visible.

Overall the knowledge in here is clear and to the point. While half the book isn't directly applicable to a Midwest/Great Lakes chaser, I think it's a valuable addition to any weather enthusiast/chaser 's library.

My copy came today and I have to give Tim amazing credit for the 2nd edition of his book. Even with my career as a meteorologist, and a long time storm chaser, I found plenty of great information in this well laid out handbook. I will go so far as to say this is a must own for every person on this forum. Tim has gone an extra 10,000 miles in his research for the tidbits in this text, all of which is fresh and up-to-date.

Simply put, it's nothing short of a great read with an overwhelming amount of useful information, especially the chock full of goodies to do on those depressing down days!

Tim, well done.

Evan
