• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Me and the boys pack into my little subaru and fit fairly comfortably. It get's twice the gas mileage as my old SUV so that helps a lot! I have taken 4 in the car which is a little cramped but still works pretty well. The more in your car, the more you can share drivers.

We always try to pack as many in a hotel room as possible. We will even skip the $10 charge to get a rollaway and instead pull the matresses off the boxsprings and double the beds in the room. Basically we turn the room into one big matress and have to climb over to get in and out.

The more economizing we can do on the road the more trips we can make so it's all worth it! :)

I usually prefer driving alone and not sharing a hotel room since it is my vacation. My chase time is a chance to be alone and relax. I also want the freedom to stop and photograph butterflies or landscapes and check out the local sites.

That being said, I also enjoy chasing in a caravan, meeting up with other chasers for dinner or relaxing on down days. Although not the most fuel efficient, I like to keep my independance.

I've been part of those nights... fun stuff there! LOL

I'm a both-ways kind of guy. On early season (pre-May) and late season (post-June) chases, I typically load the van with goobers and flock to the storms. Amos once said that it looked like a platoon jumping out of my ride. Hahaha!

But, like Hark, I enjoy my freedom, and during the height of the season or during my extended vacation, I always go alone. Not so much to stop and shoot things, but because I'm on extended vacation and came come and go as I please. As friends will tell you, I have no issues chasing into the midwest and beyond, and if there's nothing else going on behind the current system, I'll follow it home.

With that said, its more to maintain my traveling without the leash of someone else. Not to mention I get to jam to my own music, no entertaining of anyone, bathroom when I need it, etc. By the time I finish with the trip, I miss... people... and I'll get back into Platoon mode!
