Sony HDV Tapes (Cheap!)

It is not only the brand you should stick with but the type of tape (Metal Particle (MP) Metal Evaporate (ME)).
I use only Sony DVM60PRR the standard Sony DV tapes found at Walmart. The only dropout I have seen are from playing someone elses tape on my deck.
 
I wonder if its a brand name thing...using sony tapes in a canon product. I know when I was shooting with mini dvd [hated it] if I didnt put a sony DVD in the camcorder I would get a message and the video would come out in a lower quality.
 
If you have any Costco bulk shopping stores (similar to Sams, BJ's, etc.) I've seen them for even less (per 5 pack).

Hell, I'd even offer to buy some and resell...buy shipping costs kill the deal. Always the shipping :(
