Snow tornado in Scotland

I was browsing a UK weather forum and had completely missed this at the time. Not sure I've ever seen that before! While it's named a 'snow devil' some UK researchers are satisfied it had enough strength to be labelled a tornado.

 
That is a bona fide tornado, not a snow devil. Very clear funnel extending from the cloud base down to the ground. Snow tornadoes are not unheard of - there was a similar event to this one in New Mexico two or three years ago. If the conditions are right, convective snow squalls can produce tornadoes, though they are sometimes hard to see through the snow. Great video in this case!
