• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Smart Phone: What apps are on your phone for chasing?

Well, allow me to plug some of my own Android apps here that you'll find useful!

Chaser Location - post your location to SpotterNetwork automatically.
Rapid Report - report to SpotterNetwork, Twitter and Facebook.
SPC Widget - all the SPC outlooks at a glance on your homescreen.
Hail Scale - true hail sizer tool on your screen.

If anyone has a need for another chaser app I'll write it!

Pykl3
RadarScope
HRRR Viewer
OSMAnd Mapping

Don't use my phone and tablet too often, other than basic radar viewing - most of my work is still done on a laptop, can't get over having a touchpad and mouse.

Pretty basic, but what I use on my iPhone 6...

Aviary (fun app I like to use to draw on images)
Expedia (find and book hotels, great discounts for members)
Google Maps (GPS)
iWatermark (watermark photos on the fly)
PlayMemories Mobile (viewfinder and remote for my Sony Action Cams)
PS Express (to quickly touch-up photos)
RadarScope
Voice Dream
(text-to-speech, great for listening to AFDs, MDs, etc.)
Waze (backup GPS...will read voice in background, unlike recent Google Maps update)
Yelp (find great restaurants, check hotel reviews, etc.)

Underlined apps are ones that I find especially helpful while storm chasing.

iWatermark was fairly inexpensive, $1 I believe.
Voice Dream was about $10, but definitely worth to purchase.

The iPhone 6 and newer and the Samsung galaxy series have a very accurate pressure sensor in them (1 hPa)

There's plenty of free barometer apps for them. :)

Both PYKL3 and RadarScope, WeatherTap, Yelp as Bill said, Ookla Speed Test, Dropbox, File Manager Pro, Fast Reboot Pro, Coverage?, and Authy for two-step verification logins.

I'm fairly simple. I use my browser to access COD for forecasting. Other than that, it's pretty much RadarScope and Maps for navigation.
