Has anyone shot video with there T3 while out chasing??I purchased this camera a month ago and been messing around with it and trying to get the feel of it,but it tends to be a bit difficult focusing while recording.Manuel says to focus first before shooting and seems to help but only works for what you focus on the first time...make sense?? Just wanted some input...Thanks.

You are doing everything correctly. Focus first, presumably at infinity if you are shooting storms and tornadoes. Due to the mirror, the detection process for focus won't allow a truly useful follow-focus. Sony Alphas have the ability to pass light through their mirror, and therefore their auto-focus is swift. However, you don't need to run out and get one of those, because you should be able to do very well with your pre-focus, especially if you later decide to go beyond the kit lens and get a "brighter" lens with a lower f-stop, even if it's a fixed focal length.
