Shaky Facebook Live Video

I find it almost impossible to shoot decent live video on Facebook Live using an iPhone due to shaking. I have looked high and low for a stabilizer app, but the ones that I find only fixes existing videos and does no work for live feeds. Does anyone know of an app or another fix for this?

Are you holding your iPhone by hand, using a grip/mount, or mounted with a permanent solution Paul?

I am using a robust suction mounted holder on a 12" x 16" permanently mounted 1/4" black polycarbonate sheet on top of the dash. It seems those videos are pretty shaky even when I am videoing from my hand. I could always edit the videos later with some of the available apps, but I would like to do it live.

Hmmm. I’m pretty sure the software has some anti-shake baked in but it doesn’t sound like the mount is your issue. Hopefully some iPhone guys will have some ideas for you!

I purposely upgraded to 11 max pro for the camera settings. The stability is amazing! Better than my way more expensive Sony AX700. I do a lot of hiking-related video nowadays so the phone is perfect for live streaming. It’s always clear and stable. If it wasn’t , I’d have a gimbal for sure. Now all I need is constant cell phone data lol which is my main problem for not doing many lives. I go way out in the wilderness where nothing is but wilderness lol.

I threw down and got the iPhone 12 Pro about a month ago and love it for the camera settings and quality. It's great for live streaming, and even better if you have a gimbal to use for stabilization.

As much as I want that new phone, I really want to pay the 11 off first lol. I always do those edge plans.

Yeah I can't blame you. I never owned the newest iPhone before, I always ended up with older versions. I had the iPhone 6s, then switched providers and they had the iPhone 12 Pro, plus they gave me $300 credit for my 6s so I went ahead and went with the 12 Pro. It was different going from a 6s which I used for years to a 12 Pro, so many things I had to get use to but I love it!

Another option is a GoPro. They have good stabilization (via software) and can go live to Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. I believe there's also a "private live mode" where you can send people a link, but I've never gone live with mine.
