• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

NWC Dedication - The offical dedication of the NWC will take place Friday, September 29th. There will be a Presidential dedication ceremony at 10:30 am in the NWC atrium, a luncheon at 12:00 noon in the OMU ballroom, and an open house from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, in the NWC atrium. All in the College, including our students, are invited to these events. [Link] Posted: 9/25/2006 Source: NWC

I will be at both the dedication and luncheon.

Jim Cantore and Gary England will be speaking at the luncheon.

I guess I'll see some of y'all there, if you go.

I don't think this is meant to be an open invitation to the public. Space is limited. Only the afternoon open house is open to the public.

I was under that impression as well. I think that the dedication and luncheon are for those affiliated with one of the organizations in the NWC or with the university (be it student or faculty). I think that you can attend the open house at 2:30 at the NWC though. I don't think that will include a full building tour...I think they will have a day in November when they have a major public open house where there will be tours of most of the building.

The "open house" on Thursday afternoon is for the invited guests only, not for the general public.

On Saturday, November 4th, there will be an open house for everyone, called the National Weather Festival. It will be held from 9am until 1pm, and will feature tours of the National Weather Center, as well as a bunch of activities for the entire family.

Included in those activities will be a storm chaser car show - you can find more at http://www.norman.noaa.gov/publicaffairs/openhouse06/carshow/ . I don't think all the links are working yet, but keep checking back.
