Sending Weather Alerts to a Pager (2019)

Any modern cellular device will send alerts to your phone through the cellular network. However, mods, this thread belongs in "introductory weather and chasing" I believe....
 
@B. Dean Berry can tell you specific models, but you can get old Fire Dept type pagers that will detect the tone and kick the pager on for the wx band audio. I want to say there are some Motorola and Kenwood models that are perfect for this purpose, I just can't remember exactly what models off the top of my head.

FYI Ethan, this does absolutely belong in equipment. So the OP is good here. It's exactly where we would direct him on the Discord as well.
 
Elaborating for technical details on optimal settings -

Motorola Minitor VI/Unication G1 programming:

A - Your local NOAA channel, setting "closed", on-duty, alert type group call "long C". audible alert tone 1
B - Your local NOAA channel, setting "closed", off-duty, alert type group call "long C". vibrate only
C - Your local NOAA channel, setting "open", on-duty, alert type group call "long C". audible alert tone 1
D - Next-closest NOAA channel, setting "closed", on-duty, alert type group call "long C". audible alert tone 2
E - Next-closest NOAA channel, setting "closed", off-duty, alert type group call "long C". vibrate only
F - Next-closest NOAA channel, setting "open", on-duty, alert type group call "long C". audible alert tone 2
G - Scanlist 1, setting "open"
H - Unprogrammed

"A tone" and "B tone" blank, or default. "C tone" custom at 1050Hz.
Scanlist 1 - 162.400, 162.425, 162.450, 162.475, 162.500, 162.525, 162.550, all wideband 25KHz, squelch level 5, voting scan if so equipped
Default all alerts to auto-reset. Auto reset time at 90 seconds.
