• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

SE Georgia Fire

i remember when i lived in missoula, MT...they had a forest fire, and it filled the whole valley with smoke...

the town is like a bowl of mountains, and smoke settled into the town, and there was ash all over the place and it was like a dense fog at one time from all the smoke...even here in MS there is a danger of wildfires...ive seen mooreville FD doing controlled burns in the area, so im sure theres a risk of fires...

From the person in the thick of it, heres an update. Visibility around duval county. KJAX/Jacksonville Int'l 2 miles, KCRG/ Craig Municipal or Arlington 2 1/2 miles, KNIP/NAS Jacksonville 2 miles, KVQQ/ Cecil Field 1 1/2 miles.

The shocker are these observations:
Orlando Int'l 2 miles
Orlando Executive 2 1/2 miles
Kissimmee Municipal 3 miles
Orlando-Sanford Int'l 2 1/2 miles
Gainesville 5 miles and falling
Melbourne 10 miles, but with smoke

The fire is only 50% contained, and is growing fast. The fire to the west of the Waycross is in Atkinson County started yesterday by a fuel leak from a locomotive on the railroad tracks. It is 35% contained and is rapidly growing. We also have falling ash here in Duval County/

The Ware County fire has significantly died off, due to winds pushing it back onto already burned forest. The new big one is in Atkinson County, it was started by leaking fuel from a locomotive and then sparks from rail cars wheels ignited the fuel. Now it's plume ranges from Myrtle Beach,SC to St. Augustined, FL. We need 18-27 inches of rain to kill the drought, and we all know that ain't going to happen. The chances of rain are slowly increasing this weekend, to a marvelous 40%, which is a good chance, considering the last significant rain even was in February.
