Rode Video mic Pro Alternative?

Does anyone know of a solid alternative to the Rode Video mic Pro that is not so big/tall? I'm going to be using a DSLR as my dash cam, and I don't think it'll fit with that big Rode mic on top of it. I have a cheap external mic I got off Amazon, which I believe is even taller than the Rode, and it won't fit.

What mount are you using for the DSLR? I'm looking for one for my T6i

Film Tools Gripper 115XL. I was surprised how stable it is. I think the added weight of the DSLR actually helps. A really solid mount would be a 116XL with triangulation kit, and then put a tripod head on it. A more expensive setup, but I may do that eventually.
