A deep upper level low moved in the Pacific Northwest on December 12th 2008. Overnight totals from the Front brought an inch of snow to my area. With winds up to 35 mph and gusts to 40mph there was a bit of drifting, but nothing significant.
During the day today my area ended up in a dry slot which allowed for some convection and then a decent Convergence event. Snow rates were close to an inch an hour with zero visibility due to heavy and blowing snow. The event lasted for 3 and a half hours which gave my area a total of 3 and a half inches, 4 and a half inches Total storm accumulation (12-12-08 - 12/13/08.
Dirfting of snow is now occuring with winds of around 18 mph. Should be some pretty deep drifts by morning. The snow has come to an end but my area is still seeing good chances for snow thru the extended forecast.
I took 3 five minute videos of the heaviest part of the storm today. I also attached some Music with the "audioswap" feature on Youtube. The music fits the season. I also did a Timelapse video that runs around 2 minutes (3pm-7pm) which has a neat ending. You could see the activity of all the Plows in my neighborhood with the lights going back and forth.
Hope you guys enjoy the clips. By the way, for those of you that will experience this storm be prepared for very cold temps, heavy snow and wind.
