• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Since I just got a new SUV "07 explorer" I need a new mount to fit it. My old mount wont fit and I want to upgrade. With the RAM mounts a passenger can also use the laptop, right?

How good is their customer service and return policy?

Thanks!

I've owned 2 ram mounts and not had to use either customer service or their return policy....so I don't have direct experience. But then again...if you don't have to use customer service and the return policy that's pretty good :)

the mount can be swung left/right for view by either party

Brian,

As Tyler has already said, the RAM Mount is highly-adjustable and you can easily customize it to fit either the driver or passenger. It's an excellent product that you can't go wrong with. I consider it to be an essential piece of chase gear.

I highly recommend a ram mount as well, I had some cheep one off ebay last year, and went to the ram mount and it is very stable and adjustable.

I actually have a base for an explorer if you are intrested. I got a Mariner and had to get a new base for it so I have a explorer base im willing to sell. Send me a message if you are intrested.

You will not be dissapointed with a RAM mount. I tried to save money with my first mount and it was a huge mistake, my computer would sway 6-7 inches and it once dropped my computer. I switched to a RAM mount, they are really stable and it's easily adjustable to use from the driver or passenger seat. The customer service is excelent, I had a problem with the tray swinging even when it was locked down (this was caused by people not listening and trying to swing the tray withouth loosening the knob first) they had me new parts within a couple of days no qestions asked. RAM is the way to go very high quality stuff worth every penny.

I've used a laptop mount from RAM since 2000, and I haven't had a single problem. As other above me have noted, there are many different components from which to choose, so it's easy to end up with a highly-customized mounting system.
