That's beside the point. If it's fiction it has nothing to do with chasing, and can even be a detriment (perhaps even related to safety) if misrepresented in TA. If it's just fictional background noise why do I want it in TA whether it is interesting, entertaining, or pseudo informative? My point is it may have a place, but that likely isn't in FCST, DISC, REPORT, NOW. It may make sense in another area set up especially for this if there is enough demand for it. However, previous posts indicated only 1 individual was doing this anyway. If there are a few more that's still not much of a reason to create it's own area. For all the times we've been hit over the head with 'DO NOT POST IRRELEVANT STUFF IN TA' it seems this should be a no brainer. Why is there even some kind of a debate here? LOL - seems people will debate the Pros and Cons of just about anything.
Side note: I'm thinking that whenever I make a post to TA areas that some historical information could be useful too. Information about the potential places that people are picking for targets in their forecast, or about the places the virtual chasers are going. I could talk about old tornado events - how many times a city has been hit by a tornado. I could recall old chases by myself or others to that area - thereby indicating possible climatological concerns. Perhaps some information related to road networks and city government proposals, or maybe how the town was founded might be interesting and constructive too. I call this new concept 'historical chasing'.
If virtual / fictional chasing is allowed shouldn't historical chasing be allowed also? How are they really different? Actually any virtual chase I was on would probably have a lot of historical information in it as well related to landmarks I'd likely pass on the way. I'm considering starting another thread on whether we should allow historical chasing in TA.
