Printing Stills from HD Videos

Correct me if I am wrong, but can't you just use an adapter? I have a micro SD to Mini SD adapter that I use for my HV20, and it works great. Micro SD cards are awfully cheap now. :)

That's definitely an option, but I've had situations where the adapter wouldn't work (just have to test it to be sure). The ideal scenario would have been for Canon to engineer it as a micro SD slot, but such is not the case. It might be worth snatching up an adapter or two since it is a viable option per James' suggestion. Just an FYI, there are 2 GB Mini SD cards available on Tiger Direct's website.

Good day all,

I did notice one thing with MPEG Streamclip.

If you are encoding some versions of HD that is in MPEG format, it "forces" you to install "version 1.81 and only that version" of Quicktime Alternative.

It does not exit, but shows the "scrubber bar" but not the handy preview window. The work-around is to convert the HD MPEG to another format, such as Quicktime (MOV) or MP4 and use that.

Installing the QT "Alternative" also works, but then you lose the other (regular) Quicktime (I have the QT Pro version and use it). You cannot have both.

QT "Alternative" is an older "stand alone" CODEC for Windows used by some encoders, such as MPEG StreamClip.

Just a note on that...
