• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

As there are plenty of Photographers and Storm chasers on the board here that put together there Annual Chase Highlights Video I was wondering what everyone uses. I found myself in a bind the other day. I started up Studio 9 on Vista even tho my Hardware didn't work I still thought video editing would work. But I was stumped to see that Even Video editing on Studio 9 was impossible, even with a patch. I did Purchase my Upgrade to Studio 11 which is Vista compatible and will receive the Disk in about 7-20 days.

In the mean time I was wondering what everyone here uses and prefers as far as Video Editing Software. What are the typical formats that you capture (mpeg 1, mpeg2, avi, etc) and then edit with.

Another Good Question would be How you aquire Background Music. Whether it be Royalty Free, Permission from Artists, Any Resources are greatly welcomed.

Hopefully this could turn out to be a Huge Resource of Info for Anyone looking for info on Making there first DVD, etc.

Gerrit,

Did you get to search the forum? IIRC, there were a couple of good discussions in 2006 regarding this, along with a bunch of other posts, all found at the 'video edition software' page on the site search.

I may post some of the older threads in this topic. I think we should have things like this pinned since alot of new chasers come and have these questions.

ULead Video Studio is good as well.

Thanks Apritchard. I geared my Question more to the Vista scene and what works best thus far. When Vista came into the scene almost all Video Editors were uncompatible. that is where I found myself now.

I will look through the posts, But hope that some people can put some light on Vista and new video editors or Old editors revamped for Vista.

Thanks...

-gerrit
