Posting Pictures

I am having a heck of a time trying to post a picture. I can upload it and attach it to my post, but all that shows up in my post is the link to the picture. Not the picture itself. If anyone can help me figure out how to get it to show up on my post I would appreciate it. It is a personal picture downloaded from my camera to computer, if that helps. Thanks.

I think the images only show if you are using the image tag and if you are loading from a URL. If you are just uploading a file from your computer, you'll only ever get the link to the picture. I think that's just how this server's software works.

I always upload my picture somewhere else first such as Facebook or my own webspace. There are dozens of other places you can upload your pictures, including Flickr (although I've never used them). Click the image icon on the toolbar when composing a post on the forum here, then click the "From URL" tab and uncheck "Retrieve remote file and reference locally." Then you just paste the URL (web address) of the image you uploaded to Facebook or Flickr. When using Facebook, make sure you use the actual address of the image and not the page that it's on. Your URL should end in, ".jpg". If you get just the page the picture is on, it won't end in JPG and it won't show up properly when you put it into your post.

I do the same process that I used to when the photo was posted instead of a link to the photo, so something has changed. I pull the image from my browser like I always have.
