How do you do it? I figured there was a button on the profile pages to private message someone, but I'm not seeing it.

Click on the 'letter' icon at the top right, next to your name. That seems to open a conversation box to which you can add one or more participants.

I answered your FAQ question regarding this and explained the other icon functions adjacent to the envelope in the middle. Hopefully it helps and thanks for using the FAQ system.
