Overcoming convective inhibition

Is it possible to quantify the amount of lift necessary to overcome a given value of CIN?

For example, say you have a moderately strongly cap with a CIN of 75 J/kg. Is there a way to know whether the vertical velocity of the air parcels are sufficient to break the cap?
