Major flooding underway in parts of OKC metro. Radar indicates upwards of 8 inches has fallen this morning... CNN saying 10 inches in 6 hours. Numerous water rescues underway.

The images we are getting on the news here are amazing. I'm thankful we have only had about an inch here in Moore and it appears things are settling down.

Actually kind of surprised there isnt a little more chatter about the flooding, I just rolled through OKC yesterday to Texas. Glad I didnt leave a day later.

News9 out of OKC reported an observation of 11.2" in the Edmond area...and that was a couple of hours ago...all that was since 4am...Unbelievable. Looks like most of this new development will ride the boundary just to the south of the area that has already been hit hard.

Lake Hiwassee

My folks live off of Hiwassee Rd. East of Arcadia. This is looking North on Hiwassee Rd. right at the entrance of the Hiwassee Edition. I've never seen anything even close to this! To be honest, flooding like this makes me a lot more nervous, than being a mile or so away from a nader! I feel for those, whose homes flooded. :(

Flooding was horrible in the Edmond area. Witnessed several water rescues to get people out of there homes! The flooding has occurred in areas that are NOT prone to flooding. About 10" in this area.

I've been through one of the worst hit neighborhoods since the flooding. These people had water up to their ceilings! It broke my heart to see that everything they own was in their front yards, including the sheet rock and carpeting. None of them had flood insurance since they were not in flood prone area. One of the local churches has has been out providing alot of support and collecting donations.
I don't know how they will recover unless FEMA steps in...I would be in a world of hurt if that happened to my family. Please keep these folks in your prayers.
