I havent skimmed through all the posts so i apologize if it's been mentioned, but what about your local news station? Ours offers it free on their website. I just called the station i chase for just to make sure and was told it's still working. I know this would be useless when out of your viewing area, but i would think most of us would have their laptop with them in that case.

Thanks, Tim. Which service is best to just receive tornado warning messages for the U.S.? The Pro Alert indicates that up to 5 counties are covered for any state, but can I receive tornado warnings for all counties in all states? Thanks.

If you want to run the system (alerts) yourself I recommend Weather Message (www.wxmesg.com). If can ingest from NOAAPORT, EMWIN, WeatherWire via satellite or
via the Internet. Danny is very active in keeping things current and affective.

It can send short format alerts to regular cell phones or full statements to smartphones or regular email addys. It also can send to Twitter and to pagers that use WCTP or SNPP. Check it out and tell Danny Tim sent ya!
