I briefly noted a 1/16 Huntsville Times article that discussed the NOAA budget request so I googled the story.
The awg.org email newsletter indicates the overall NOAA budget is slated to decrease by 5.8% but the NWS will see a 4% boost. Also listed is a 39% cut in the Weather And Air Quality Research budget which includes a $3M figure for tornado/severe storm research (phased-array radar).
