Here is another informative article from ProPublica.org about the Texas flash flood within the larger context of "climate change." The views expressed are not particularly complimentary of the current administration, but in fairness to all points of view, I am posting it for ST readers.

This morning (07/12/2025) on the Velshi show broadcast on MSNBC, there was a very informative panel discussion about the Trump administration's handling of the Texas flood (hint: not a "pretty" picture).

Here are a couple of more articles from The Hill from yesterday and today (07/11-12/2025) related to stories making the rounds in this weekend's news show circuit about the FEMA and NWS response to the Texas flood. Although it may appear that only the D's are speaking out, there are actually a few Congressional R's that are coming before the public willing to defend the administration's handling of this disaster. The question is: "Why aren't more R's coming forth on the major news media to "talk up" the administration's response in the aftermath of this disaster?" This is a question that a NDRB, if such were now in existence, might certainly investigate.

While I find the nakedly-partisan nature of this post to be a bit off-putting, @Rick Schmidt has a point.

If one posts an article from a network (MSNBC) which makes no secret of its pro-Democrat political bias and which features partisan hacks like Gutierrez and Criswell (under whose direction FEMA gained notoriety for anti-Trump bias), one should not expect anything “pretty”.

At the risk of sounding like a scold: “I hope future disaster-related posts can manage to avoid the Scylla and Charybdis of partisan politics.”

If one posts an article from a network which makes no secret of its pro-Democrat political bias and which features partisan hacks like Gutierrez and Criswell (under whose direction FEMA gained notoriety for anti-Trump bias), one should not expect anything “pretty”.

My point here is NOT to make a political statement. It is to point out differing views of what all major American media/online outlets are reporting. If there is any bias, it is not intentionally being "cherry-picked" by me to promote some "liberal" agenda. Your "scolding" is totally unfounded and, unfortunately, biased in your point of view. I have no problem with difference of opinion, in fact, I welcome it. If you can find news stories from legitimate sources opposing these, by all means please post them here for all to read and decide for themselves. That's what this discussion forum and website are created for, to discuss constructively what appears as the current events of the day to which all of us are being exposed to 24/7, good or bad. BTW, The Hill is actually the website that officially reports from Congress, so it doesn't get any more bipartisan than that. Perhaps we all should strive for a little less heated rhetoric and a bit more tolerance and look for ways to solve problems, not to tear each other down...and, maybe, in the process we'll all learn something new. Just my $0.02 worth. I do, however, appreciate your opinions.
