• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

In Macomb, I'm supposedly covered by 2 repeaters. There's one on campus, and one in Burlington, IA.

The Burlington one has terrible reception here, while the Macomb one has crystal clear. But for some reason, warnings for my area never get broadcasted. I don't know if it's due to a SAME code problem or what as I had this issue last year. But it's alerting me to warnings from the Quad Cities, Lincoln, and St. Louis, which I don't care for.

Anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong? Thanks.

Check with the NWS office responsible for that tower and ask if they are retransmitting warnings for the county you are looking for...

"But for some reason, warnings for my area never get broadcasted."

You'll need to ask the question again then -- you say they are not broadcasting warnings for your county, and then the NWS says they are (I think, I don't know what county WIU is?)

If I read you right - you aren't getting the alert for your county but you are getting alerts for other counties? 1) Do you have a SAME radio? 2) If so - you have it set up incorrectly. If not, the NWS office might not be toning out your county.

McDonnough's the county. I do have a SAME radio, but I'm not sure if I set it up properly as I've had trouble with it downhere last year.

The NWR system has logs of the SAME transmissions and what radios they have been sent on. The NWS (Quad Cities in your case) can look at them to verify that the warnings are being transmitted for your county on that transmitter. If they are, then it would seem to point to a problem on your receiver.

Have you been able to receive the Wednesday tests? (may not have been done today due to severe weather threat)

Are they done around 11ish? If so, nope.
