NPOP Becomes Operational

The latest version of the NWS Aware newsletter says that at the end of this month, a national 800# will be available for anyone to call in automated reports.

Great. As if we don't have enough problems and issues with dissemination as it is.
I wonder how much this "program" is going to cost? And for those that do not think it will, I can almost certainly assure you that it will (overtime for a warm body to sift through reports, placing reports where they need to be, accuracy of said reports) These all take time and in todays world, time is money.

Seems to me that we would be better served without making "double" work for ousrselves. Just my 2
