On Friday, March 8, intensive convective snow occurred over the mountain ranges of New Mexico, with towering storm clouds over the mountains but sunshine and blue skies in nearby valleys. Here is a picture looking at the storm over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains northeast of Santa Fe.
This storm dumped a foot of snow at Ski Santa Fe during the day, with a storm total of 15 inches the next morning. Across the valley at the Pajarito Ski Area in the Jemez Mountains near Los Alamos, the storm total was 14 inches.
