Tyler, is there plans for an Android version of this app sometime down the road?
After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.
I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.
For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.
From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.
Sincerely, Jeff D.
I would like to see something like this for the Blackberry Storm. Does anybody know of a good program that will work on the storm? I have weatherbug, but it is EXTREMELY slow and does not loop.
You might try inws the weather service has it out now here is the link http://inws.wrh.noaa.gov/
Hello all..new member here. Just wanted to add that I also use RadarScope and think it's an excellant app for the iPhone.
For the ones who just can't get enough (that includes me), I found a way that is somewhat economic to have a larger screen.
If you have one of those portable DVD players (screen folds/rotates on the player and 12v DC), it can be used as a larger LCD screen for your iPhone. In a nut shell, most of the DVD players have a AV out/in jack (w/cables) and all you need is the RCA/AV cables for the iPhone. Just plug the cables in and you will now have a clear, larger view of the radar and information. You basically use the iphone as a "remote control" (i.e. panning, zooming, etc). I have a Zenith DVD portable player with a 7" widescreen. Works PERFECT for this app. Also by using the DVD players screen, they are generally diffused and have little to no glare. Keep in mind that RadarScope doesn't allow widescreen (landscape mode)...only portrait....BUT if you use other apps such as wxRadar, you "might" be able to view it in widescreen mode on the dvd player (as I know you can on the iphone..not sure how that works). Anyhoo...just something to kick around.
Matt
P.S. Refer to this link for the referenced iphone cables.
