Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions--I retried things, and I think the trouble was I was only shifting over the .shp and .sty files to parallels, when I should have just downloaded and unzipped the whole folder that included the .shx and .dbx too. Much nicer having not to download by county this way. Now I can add a few more states while I'm at it. Hurrah!

Mods might want to remove links to the compromised site from this thread. They could be a virus risk, and if anything it helps the spammers/squatters get traffic.

I edited or removed any active links to the old GRLXStuff website, so if you see that your post was edited you'll know why.
