I won these in a competition and they are still new in the box! I am going for $1300 for the 7D body, which is $400 off. I am also looking for at least $800 for the lens which is also $400 off. Let me know! Email: [email protected]

Both lens and body are sold for $2100.

Man, if I had the money right now I'd hop on this deal. Well, B&H has the camera for about 1500, so I wouldn't say yours is quite 400 off. Still a pretty good deal though.

Also remember that if you buy used (even if new-in-the-box), not directly from the vendor....in most cases you loose any warranty with the product. That to me is a huge risk and I'd want see more off. Just a personal opinion. It isn't listed anymore but B&H did have a used 5D (not the mk ii) for only $900 (7 of 10 condition) they do have better condition ones for a little more. There are 7D's used on B&H for as little as $1300.

Is the lens an L series? I'd consider it if the body was $1000 and I'd have to see what exact lens you have. This would be a very temporary buy for me as I'd likely move up to the 5Dmk2 before Hurricane Season. I don't really need the 5Dmk2 right now.

Ah...OK...not an L series....yeah...kinda have to go with an L series...due to the HD video full frame need that will come with the 5Dmk2 (or at least that is what I've been advised...I'm still researching everything).

I'd consider 7D at $1100 if (and only if) I can still get to register the camera at canon for the factory warranty (I don't need the extended...as mentioned the upgrade will be quick...it just a few months).

Just giving some props to the 7D body. The thing dominates. I shot all day outside in -10F temperatures for a snowmobile race. Took over 2000 shots on one battery and it still had plenty of charge left. The only Canon bodies with better AF are the 1D series. I can AI servo snowmobiles coming straight at me and get a very very high percentage of keepers. The 9 FPS will be great for capturing cows going around a tornadic circulation.

Folks, $1,200 is a smoking deal for a Canon 7D. Adam, if you want, you can easily sell it for $1,300 in one of the many photography forums, such as www.photography-on-the.net ...and you could probably get $1,350 for it.

I've been shooting with a Canon 7D for almost a year now. It's a fantastic camera. Yes, the 5D MII is better for landscapes and storm-chasing (if you can afford it), but the 7D is much better for sports, wildlife, and believe me...it's no slouch when it comes to landscapes/storm-chasing! At any rate, if anyone is in the market for a 7D, $1,200 is a great deal and I would buy it without hesitation.

As for the EF-S 17-55 2.8 IS, I own that lens too, and it's fantastic! Do keep in mind that it's an EF-S lens, so it will only work on Canon's crop-body cameras, such as the 30D, 40D, 50D, 60D, 7D. (It will not work on full-frame bodies such as the 5D or 5D MII.) The glass is L-quality, but Canon will not the "L" stamp on an EF-S lens. It also lacks the weather-proofing that you'll find on many L lenses, but let me tell you, this is a great lens. The 17-55 focal length is great for a walk-around lens on a crop-body camera. Often times, this is the first lens I grab for general photography (and I own 8 lenses) and the 2.8 aperture along with IS (Image Stabilization) allows you to shoot in pretty low light. But when it comes to storm-scapes, the Canon EF-S 10-22 is the premier lens. 17mm on a crop-body is wide, but you'll want wider if you chase reasonably close to a storm. However, if you can only afford one lens, or if you already own the 10-22, then the 17-55 is definitely the way to go. And $800 is a phenomenal price...

Just my two cents,
Bryan

Yes well last year I won the 5D II. This year I won the 7D. So it was very difficult to decide which one to sell. But in the end I decided to keep the 5D II. But the lens that I am selling must be fantastic for chasing with a fixed f/2.8 aperture.

Wow, great prices for both. If I did not already have the FL covered with my 15-85, I'd probably be all over the 17-55. $800 is lower than most used one's go for, and a steal for a BNIB one! GLWS.

I believe the 7D is sold - was ready to send $1200 via paypal on Monday, and he mentioned to me that someone had offered to buy it for $1400 locally. Haven't heard from him since, so I assume the transaction happened.

i can attest to this. the 5D-Mkii isn't the greatest for sports/action mode, but it does fantastic in landscape and wildlife. wish i had kept my rebel XTi to use for sports though.
