Greetings! I wanted to try here first before I threw $$$ out elsewhere to see if someone here had a Digital8 camcorder available that I could maybe borrow? As I posted a few weeks back, I had sent in a vast collection of 8mm tapes for digital conversion, but still have quite a few left to comb through. I wanted to borrow a camcorder to go through tapes that are unlabeled to check their contents to see if they are worth converting. While I am delighted with the LegacyBox experience I had, there were a couple tapes that only had a few minutes of footage, so throwing a bunch of those tapes out could be a big waste of money, so I wanted to scan through my remaining tapes to see if what may be worth a conversion. In addition, I would venture to say that many of the unlabeled tapes may have footage that I'm not particularly looking to archive (generic weather videos, sports stuff, etc).

Given most folks aren't local, I would gladly pay shipping costs to and from should someone take me up on this (plus a little extra to say thank you). I'm not really looking to BUY, but would consider it for the right price if it makes sense. I don't imagine after I finish this project that I will ever have use for a Digital8 camcorder again, so if I can save a few bucks to 'rent' one over outright buy one, that'd be my preference.

So yeah, putting out the feeler here in case some of you vets have one lying around collecting dust. It does need to be able to play Digital8 tapes as many that I have are of that format and older Video 8 camcorders may not have the ability to play the D8. Given it's only for capture/scanning, it doesn't need to record, so playback is the only thing I really need. And if it has a charger, then I won't need a battery, either.

Thanks all :)
